Photobomber in a Union Jack beanie ruins U.S. Open trophy ceremony

After winning the U.S. Open, Webb Simpson probably felt he had earned his moment in the spotlight.
But one fan had other ideas and decided to 'photobomb' the prize-giving ceremony.
Squawking like a bird and dressed in a beanie hat, the spectator interrupted the trophy presentation at the Olympic Club in San Francisco.

His fame was short lived, however, as he was unceremoniously dragged away by a US Golf Association official.

He was subsequently handcuffed and arrested by officers.

The bizarre incident - which happened as NBC's Bob Costas interviewed Simpson following his maiden major title victory - was all played out on camera.
Despite the somewhat audacious attempt, though, the 'photobombing' failed to take away the limelight from the golfer for long.
The 26-year-old, who now climbs to fifth in the world, became the 15th different major winner in a row.

He is also now the third consecutive American to win one of golf's grand slam events after beating Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell and fellow countryman Michael Thompson by one shot.
Speaking to the BBC, Simpson said: 'I've never felt nerves like I felt today.
'I had to hit my legs because I couldn't feel them.

'I probably prayed more the last three holes than I ever did in my life.'
The American also commented on the bizarre photobombing, saying the moment caught him completely by surprise:
'He just appeared in front of me.
I wasn't sure if that was part of the deal.'
