Woman teacher, 41, charged with performing sexual favours for boys

A female teacher has been arrested and charged with carrying out sexual favours for pupils at the secondary school where she taught.
Emma Webb, 41, is accused of 19 counts of abuse of a position of trust under the Sexual Offences Act on boys at the unnamed school on the outskirts of Wokingham, Berkshire.
She also faces a 20th charge of perverting the course of justice.

She is due to appear before magistrates today where it is expected she will apply for bail. She faces 20 charges.
The teacher was arrested last Thursday by detectives investigating a series of alleged sexual incidents at the school where she taught.
 

The incidents were said to have involved three boy pupils.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said that Webb was accused of 19 counts of abuse of a position of trust, under the Sexual Offences Act. She was also charged with one count of perverting the course of justice.
"The woman was suspended from her employment to allow any investigations to be carried out and the police are continuing to work closely with the school and the local authority," added the spokesman.
It was understood that the 19 charges related to three different schoolboys.
