The thieves quickly drive up behind their target vehicle, positioning themselves so close that its driver would be unable to see them in his mirrors.
Two men can then be seen emerging from the sunroof. As one edges out on to the bonnet the other grabs his legs and holds him steady.

He takes a peek inside but then, perhaps because he is unimpressed with the contents, he abandons the robbery and the two men climb back inside the vehicle.
Officers from the country's Department for Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) were able to film the daring manoeuvre from a police helicopter.

The gangsters were caught following an operation involving 20 house searches in the Romanian counties of Ilov, Alba and Hunedora as well as in the capital city, Bucharest.
