24-Year-Old Mom Delivers Baby Herself On New York City Subway

Wanda Dueno (pictured) is her own hero! The 24-year-old delivered a healthy baby boy by herself on a New York City subway car on Wednesday morning, when she realized that her child was on its way, reports the New York Post.

Dueno was en route to her sister’s home in the Bronx at around 1:30 a.m., when she suddenly felt some contractions. Having already given birth to another child, Dueno was only too familiar with the pangs. Although the young woman was not due for five days, she was certain that her labor was imminent but no one was in the subway car with her to offer assistance.
As the contractions increased Dueno says that she tried desperately to keep the baby from coming out but her efforts were useless. She made several attempts to hit the subway’s emergency intercom button, which contacts the conductor, but he arrived too late.
By the time the train conductor went to investigate who had been trying to summon him, Dueno had the infant child in her arms.
Even though Dueno has named her son Libasse, she is actually soliciting nicknames for him. As an option, her sister suggested “MetroCard.”

According to the New York Post, MTA chief Joseph Lhota made the “joyous announcement” at yesterday’s agency meeting, saying, “I’m looking forward to meeting this little baby,” who he joked should have been named “Metro.”
The New York City Transit Authority temporarily halted all service on the line in order to sanitize the subway car afterward.

Man Pulls Gun On Neighbor For Farting

Daniel Collins of Teaneck, New Jersey was arrested after he reportedly threatened to take his neighbor’s life when he farted in front of his apartment, the New York Daily News reports.

Collins, 77, pulled a 32-caliber revolver and threatened to “put a hole” in his neighbor’s dome, cops said.
According to police, the two men have been engaged in an ongoing dispute over noise. Collins said the 47-year-old neighbor passed gas so loudly that he heard it inside of his apartment before he smelled the funk. The disrespect proved too much, so the old man had to pull out his pistol to show the younger gentleman his smelly ways were out of order.
Collins has been charged with “aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a firearm and making terroristic threats.” He was released without bail.

102-Year-Old Immigrant Becomes American Citizen!

LOS ANGELES — A 102-year-old Filipino man who came to California as a teenager in 1928 to pick lettuce and cabbage became an American citizen during a touching naturalization ceremony Wednesday at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

“I’m happy,” Philippines-born immigrant Joaquin Arciago Guzman (pictured) said in Tagalog after Wednesday’s ceremony, where about 7,300 joined him in taking the citizenship oath.
Nationwide, only 27 people older than 100 have become U.S. citizens in at least the past 50 years, according to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

“It’s extremely rare to see anyone over 100,” said Nancy Alby, the agency’s field office director for Los Angeles County. “We get a handful in their 90s and 80s. It’s more common to see people in their 70s.”

The oldest person ever to become a U.S. citizen was Manik Bokchalian of the San Fernando Valley community of Van Nuys. She was 117 when she took the oath in 1997.
At the downtown ceremony, Guzman’s niece and caregiver helped him out of a wheelchair to stand during the Pledge of Allegiance and sing “The Star-Spangled Banner.” Guzman put his hand over his heart, next to a small American flag in his suit pocket, the Los Angeles Daily News reported (http://bit.ly/MY9wd7 ).
“It’s hard to believe that he first came to the U.S. in 1928 and didn’t become a citizen until he was 102 years old,” niece Julie Guzman said in Tagalog. “I’m happy for him. There are no words.”
Guzman’s daughter-in-law Elizabeth Guzman regretted that Guzman’s wife, Paz, did not live to see the ceremony. She was 89 when she died in 2007.
“It’s sad because she waited many years for him to become a citizen,” Elizabeth said in Tagalog. “But I believe she’s looking down on us now, and she’s happy.”
Guzman, who now lives in North Hollywood, was 18 when left the Philippines to harvest lettuce and cabbage in the fertile Salinas Valley fields south of San Francisco.
He returned to the Philippines after more than a decade of toiling in the fields and he fell for Paz Irene Gatchalian, the daughter of a mayor. They were married on New Year’s Day 1940.
Guzman returned to the United States before the birth of the first of their six children, and he supported his family by farming property he bought with his earnings.
Guzman brought his wife and two of their adult children to the United States in 1984. They all became American citizens, but Guzman waited to submit an application for reasons that aren’t clear

Man Allegedly High On Fake Weed Kills, Eats Family Dog

Michael Terron Daniel of Waco, Texas allegedly killed then ate a family dog while high on the synthetic drug K-2, KWTX reports.Daniel was charged with “cruelty to a non-livestock animal.” On June 14, Daniel reportedly “was on a bad trip from ingesting K-2, ”got down “on his hands and knees and chased a neighbor while barking and growling like a dog,” according to witnesses interviewed by Waco police.
The man then took a small, black dog onto the front porch of the home where he beat and strangled the animal. And, worst of all, Daniel reportedly then “began to bite into the dog, ripping pieces of flesh away,” police said.
The poor dog died at the scene.

Officers found Daniel sitting on the porch with blood on his hands, clothing and face, Swanton said.
He was “initially incoherent and unresponsive,” Swanton said, and was taken to Providence Health Center by ambulance.
While waiting for paramedics to arrive, Swanton said, Daniel asked officers to fight him or use a stun gun “to help him get off his bad trip,” Swanton said.
Officers did neither, Swanton said.
Daniel was awaiting booking at the McLennan County Jail Friday afternoon.

Rapper 50 Cent Hospitalized After SUV Crashed With Mack Truck!

Hip-hop mogul 50 Cent (pictured) was hospitalized and released early Tuesday morning, after being injured in a vehicle crash. The performer was rushed to a nearby hospital, when his bullet-proof SUV was rear ended by a Mack truck on a Long Island expressway in New York, reports his website Thisis50.com.

50 Cent, whose actual name is Curtis Jackson, was taken on a stretcher to a nearby Queens hospital with injuries to his back and neck.

Only last month, 50 was hospitalized for food poisoning. He claimed to have gotten violently ill while overseas in London. When he arrived in the States, he became so dehydrated after throwing up that he had to be placed in a hospital. After undergoing some tests, doctors discovered that 50 had a clogged small intestine, which resolved itself after some much-needed rest.

Venus Williams Suffers Round 1 Defeat At Wimbledon

Tennis pro extraordinaire Venus Williams (pictured) went up against Russian rival Elena Vesnina, 25, on Monday and lost during the first round of the women’s singles match at the All England Lawn Tennis Championships at Wimbledon, England, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Williams, who is a five-time Wimbledon champion, experienced for the first time since her debut at the tournament in 1997 the bitter taste of a first-round defeat. Vesnina, a doubles expert who reached the fourth round at Wimbledon three years ago, beat Williams in straight sets in a 6-1, 6-3 defeat in an hour and fifteen minutes.


According to some spectators, Williams looked listless while trying to keep up her competitive edge against Vesnina. Since being diagnosed last year with the little-known autoimmune disorder Sjögren’s syndrome (pronounced show-grens), which saps not only energy levels but is also commonly accompanied by joint pain, Williams has been placed under a microscope.
Over the last year, the 32-year-old has been criticized for looking glum and lacking verve on the court. Williams’ world rankings has fallen to 58th since being diagnosed with the disorder.
All is not lost for Williams, though: She will join sister and fellow tennis-pro Serena in a game of doubles at the tournament. She is also expected to be back in London in about a month to compete in the Summer Olympics.
As far as losing at Wimbledon on Monday, Williams is keeping her head to the sky, telling ESPN, “I don’t have time to feel sorry for myself,” she said. “I’m not going to give up on it. … There’s no way I’m going to just sit down and give up just because I have a hard time the first five or six tournaments back. That’s just not me.”

Italian Newspaper Depicts Black Soccer Player As King Kong

Italian newspaper, La Gazzetta dello Sport, published a photo of Italian soccer player Mario Balotelli depicted as King Kong (pictured), the New York Daily News reports.

It seems that the message behind the photo was suppose to show Balotelli toppling England (which they did in yesterday’s Euro Cup Semifinals). But obviously, the photo was poorly executed
Balotelli, who was born in Italy but is of Ghanian descent, expressed his fears about anticipated racism in Ukraine and Poland before the tournament started.
“Let’s see what happens at the Euro. I hope that there will not be a problem,” he told France Footall. “Because I really can’t handle that.”
“I cannot bear racism, it’s unacceptable for me. If it had happened again I would straight away leave the pitch and go home. We are in 2012. It can’t happen,” the 21-year-old added.
Euro Cup 2012 has been the target of robust media coverage over concerns of racism in the tournament’s host countries, Ukraine and Poland. Here is more on this story by the Daily News:

Despite efforts to stem any racist outbursts, racism has been an issue at the month-long tournament. In Italy’s group-play match against Croatia, Croatian fans directed racist chants at Balotelli and a banana was thrown onto the pitch during the match. The Croatian Football Federation was fined 80,000 euros ($106,000) last week for their fans’ actions.

I lived in Eastern Europe for four years–more than a year in Ukraine–and I am the first person to recognize the ills of racism in both nations. Though I do feel the western media’s reporting on racism in Ukraine and Police is a bit much.

The West has its own issues.

For example, Italy is experiencing rising trends of racism and its ex-Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi, who upon meeting America’s first Black President, said he was “young, handsome and tanned.” If Berlusconi remarks were said out of ignorance, then he truly defies the stereotype of the “cultured Italian.”

Given that an Italian publication is the guilty party of the racism, I wonder if western media outlets will rationalize this photo as harmless? Or will they go as hard on Italy as they have on Ukraine or Poland?

Dr. Murray is Eating Cat Food To Survive Jail?

Conrad Murray (pictured), the cardiologist who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the death of pop icon Michael Jackson and who was sentenced to four years in prison as a result, has reportedly lost more than 30 pounds in jail. The good doctor is also bellyaching about the jail conditions, complaining that not only did the bad smelling water give him dysentery, but he is also allegedly suffering from a poor diet that he says is “ruining his health,” reports TMZ.
Since Murray, 59, cannot bring himself to eat the food that the jail provides, he has reportedly taken it upon himself to survive on what he calls “cat food,” which he purchases from the commissary. Murray, who arrived at the jail last November, has been purchasing canned fish products, such as canned tuna at $4.25 a can, salmon flakes for $3.50 a pop, and canned mackerel at $2.50. Murray says that he must be the only human on earth who is being forced to survive on canned mackerel.
Reportedly, Murray has filed countless appeals to get out of jail due to his failing health. Now whether Murray’s pleas will continue to fall on deaf ears is yet to be seen. However, according to L.A. County Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore, Murray’s criticisms of his digs might be an extreme exaggeration. “All inmates receive the proper nutrition and medical care that is required by law, but the sheriff’s department goes above and beyond what is required,”

Racist police Sentenced To 4 Years

Michael Daragjati (pictured), a former New York Police Department officer, was sentence to over four years in prison for his false and racist arrest of Staten Island man, Kenrick Gray.
After busting Gray on the bogus charge, he later boasted that he had “fried another n—-r.” Daragjati, 33, has been jailed since last October. He pleaded guilty to extortion and civil-rights violation crimes in January.


Here is how to the racist arrest of Gray and subsequent bust of Daragjati went down, according to The Post:

On April 15, 2011, Daragjati falsely busted Kenrick Gray, 32, on a charge of resisting arrest after they exchanged angry words on the street while the officer was on plainclothes patrol.
After Gray’s arrest, FBI agents caught Daragjati on a recorded phone call bragging that he “fried another n—-r.” Gray spent two days in jail.
He is now suing Daragjati, who was sentenced yesterday to nine months in prison for violating Gray’s civil rights.
Daragjati was sentenced to another 48 months for a March 2011 incident, in which the off-duty cop and a group of buddies assaulted and threatened a man they accused of stealing Daragjati’s snowplow.
“You don’t take the law into your own hands. It’s pretty basic,” Assistant US Attorney Paul Tuchman said at yesterday’s sentencing.
“He should know better. He’s a police officer.”

But Daragjati, in fact, proved he didn’t know better when he wrote a letter to the African-American judge justifying why he used the N-word.

“I did not use the word out of racist motivation, but instead as part of the culture I was accustomed to . . . It was used as an ignorant reference to those people on the street because of their disrespect for the community and members of law enforcement,” he said in his letter.

WATCH DARAGJATI’S Family Make Excuses For His Racism

Brooklyn Federal Judge William Kuntz, a Black man with years of experience on New York City’s Civilian Complaint Review Board (CCRB), was unmoved. He read the ex-cop’s letter in court and said, “My goodness, sir, you just made the worst argument that a police officer could make.”

According to the New York Daily News, Daragjati also tried to earn points with the judge by saying his time in jail taught him a thing or two about racism.

“People don’t like the cops,” he said. “This stop and frisk nonsense goes on. …I just spent eight months in prison with 120 males and I’ve heard their stories. These people should hate me and rightfully so. I’ve opened my eyes to things I’ve never seen before.”

Yeah, right.

Daragjati has been accused of racism in the past. He was the subject of three civil rights lawsuits and a CCRB complaint, in which a Black man claims Daragjati told him to “shut your n—– mouth.”

ENGLAND BOSS DEMANDS PLAYERS SING ANTHEM

Roy Hodgson asked England’s players to sing the national anthem in unison in one of his first initiatives as national team manager.
The issue had first been raised, Sportsmail understands, by the managing director of Club England, Adrian Bevington.
But it was Hodgson who called his players together last month, ahead of the pre-Euro 2012 friendlies against Norway and Belgium, and told them what he expected of them as English internationals at a major tournament.
Jamie Redknapp, the former England midfielder and Sportsmail columnist, yesterday revealed it is the first time he can remember the whole team singing the Anthem.
Hodgson made the point that the country was celebrating Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee but he also wanted to see that display of unity on the pitch before matches here in Eastern Europe. As millions of television viewers at home have seen, all the players have adhered to Hodgson’s wishes.

'We've got to get my car and get to south London to record the England song. We're remixing it to make it sound like we're gonna win this time. I was working on the lyrics on the traffic on my way here,' he told the Independent.
In Stalybridge, Manchester, England fan Dave Tate, 40, and his sons Josh, 16, and Alex, 15, painted a giant cross of St George on the side of their property.
The house now proudly declares ‘We Still Believe’. Web designer Dave said: 'We’re patriotic and I sit and pray England will win a major tournament in my lifetime so we just wanted to show our support for Roy and the boys at Euro 2012.'
Today fans were jetting out to Kiev, Ukraine, as they made a last-minute decision to go to the quarter-final clash.
Chris, the England fan who has been dumped by his partner, is believed to be one of the fans who has flown to the game.
James Sporren, 30, from Lichfield, Staffordshire, who drove under the banner said he had sympathy with the man in question.
He said: 'He’s just enjoying a chance to support his country in a major tournament - and that doesn’t come along very often.
'You shouldn’t make a man pick between his woman and his country. They will have an anniversary every year - this is our best chance for a long time.'
But fellow England fan Bob Sparling, a lorry driver from Birmingham, disagreed and said: 'Football is not the be all and end all - you need to make sure the lady in your life is kept on the right side.
'I wonder if it’s directed at him while he was on his way to Birmingham Airport or whether she’s just trying to name and shame him.
'But one thing is for sure - he’ll have hell to pay when he gets home.'

A Chinese football fan died after going 11 nights without sleep as he tried to watch every single kick of the ball of Euro 2012.
Jiang Xiaoshan, said to be supporting England and France in the tournament, died of exhaustion on Tuesday morning.
Because of the time difference, he reportedly stayed up each night with friends and then went to work the following day.

Sources said, however, that the effect of alcohol and tobacco, combined with the chronic exhaustion, was to blame for his death as it weakened his immune system.
It is not the first time a Chinese football fan has suffered from trying to keep up with their on-pitch heroes.

Their game will switch off after two hours, where they will be given a 10 minute rest, and can then only log again in once for a maximum two hours in the following 24 hours.

A woman who made a sex tape with her teenage son after they were reunited after 15 years apart claims their relationship was not incest - but a case of 'genetic attraction'.
Mistie Rebecca Atkinson, 32, was sentenced to four years and eight months behind bars in Napa County Superior Court, California on Wednesday.
It came after she was found in a Ukiah, California motel room with the 16-year-old boy, who had recorded his mother giving him oral sex on his phone.

Authorities also recovered nude photos Atkinson had sent him after tracking him down through Facebook. She had not seen him for 15 years.
But in a letter to the court, Atkinson, claimed she did not consider it incest, the Napa Valley Registerreported.

 

'I don't feel like I should have the charge of incest because there is something called genetic attraction that is a very powerful [phenomenon] that happens to 50 [per cent] of people becoming reunited with a long-lost relative,' she wrote.
Little research has been carried out on genetic sexual attraction. But somepsychologists say family members who are separated for a long time could become sexually attracted to each other when they meet as adults.

Atkinson could be out in as little as two years and four months for good behaviour.

GENETIC SEXUAL ATTRACTION

Genetic sexual attraction is a phenomenon where close biological family members, such as siblings or cousins, become attracted to each other when they meet as adults.

If family members do not know each other during the critical years of development, they risk finding each other attractive.

Little research has been carried out into the phenomenon but some psychologists claim it exists due to shared personality traits, which are desirable in a partner.

GSA is rare between people brought up together, due to reverse sexual printing, where people become desensitized to finding family members attractive to prevent inbreeding.

She reportedly had no contact with her son until last year when she began sending him inappropriate messages on the social networking site.
The boy was living with his father at the time and was aware Atkinson was his mother. She did not have custody rights to her him.
'It appears she hadn't had any contact with the son for 15 years' a source told the New York Daily News.
'She contacted him late last year via Facebook and was sending him messages inappropriately.'
The sexual contact began after police responded to domestic violence reports between Atkinson and her live-in boyfriend in Nice, California.
The relationship came to light when the boy's relatives reported the inappropriate Facebook messages between him and Atkinson.
Atkinson and the teen were found in a motel room on March 2.

Police found videos on the boy’s phone from a month earlier showing Atkinson performing oral sex on the teenager and having sex with him.
Atkinson also sent nude pictures of herself to him from her phone, court documents said. They had also talked about running away together.
In May, she had pleaded no contest to incest, oral copulation, lewd contact with a minor and distribution of lewd material to a minor.

A supermarket manager who led a secret double life for over 20 years, having 12 children with two ‘wives’, committed suicide after the women found out about each other.
Andrew Ingham, 50, sank into depression when they both left him in December last year after they discovered his affairs and he was left living alone in a tiny flat.
Despite being married to his wife Jackie for 30 years, Mr Ingham maintained a relationship with his mistress Anita Barrett for 21 years, an inquest heard.

Remarkably, he fathered four children with his mistress and eight children with his wife. Mr Ingham’s oldest child with his wife is 27, while his youngest child is eight.
His older children discovered his double life by piecing together clues they found on Facebook, and both women met in December.
During the hearing into his death at Chelmsford Coroner’s Court, Mrs Ingham, 48, and Miss Barrett, 42, sat at opposite ends of the courtroom.
Ingham married Jacqui, 48, in 1983. Together they bought a house in Welwyn Garden City, Herts, where she still lives. Eight years into his marriage he started a relationship with Ms Barrett in Hoddesdon, 11 miles, or 20 minutes' drive, away.
The inquest heard that Mr Ingham committed suicide after feeling depressed about ‘events which had been going on in his personal life’. Before killing himself he left a number of suicide notes addressed ‘to whom it may concern’.
Mr Ingham had been living alone in a flat above a restaurant in Waltham Abbey when his body was discovered by his friend Stuart Pryde.
Mr Pryde, who owned and renovated the flat, became suspicious when he found a parking ticket on Mr Ingham’s car, saying that his friend always took care not to receive fines.
After using his own key to let himself into the property, Mr Pryde discovered his friend.
Mr Pryde told the court in a statement: ‘I took one step in the room. I saw several notes on the bed. I peered round the corner of the room and saw Andrew’s body hanging from the loft hatch. I just took a glimpse.’
He said that, shocked by the scene, he called the police immediately.

Mr Pryde also told the court that he was aware of circumstances in his friend’s personal life.
The inquest heard that Mr Ingham had not been seen for three days before his body was discovered.
Coroner Caroline Beasley-Murray, who recorded a verdict that Mr Ingham killed himself, told the court that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death but said there remained ‘unanswered questions’.
The coroner said she bore in mind the note and believed Mr Ingham was suffering from depression.
She said: ‘The court senses a great deal of grief, anger, anxiety, lots of questions, all sorts of emotions swirling around in this court room. This court cannot answer why. Very often there are lots of unanswered questions.’
Inspector Sarah Harding told the coroner she was ‘satisfied that he decided to take his life over the weekend’.
After the inquest Ms Barrett said: 'He spent half and half of his time between us. He was just a very good liar.
She told The Sun: 'Both families know each other now. We all found out at the same time - the eldest kids used Facebook to put it all together.'
